Race report
March 20th was Four Lane Black Tops turn to host a THORL round.
Based usually in Marlborough, Wiltshire, FLBT is home to 1/32 racing as its 'normal' racing, but the club also boasts a dedicated group of enthusiastic HO racers.
This time, Devizes, a town a few miles down the road from Marlborough was the location for Round 6.
The FLBT club track was shipped to the unit in Devizes where it was used as a basis for the HO track to be laid atop. Extender pieces were added to give extra length to the track.
The mixture of AFX track and Brad Bowman BSTS, including banking made the track with a length of 90+ foot. The sweeping track made for some super fast corners for those who were brave enough to push hard enough.

The Morning Open Wheel races commenced with the qualifying for the finals. 3 Minute heats with the 3 best lap scores arranging the grid positions. As the qualifying commenced Clive was showing that the previous version of the AFX Mega G (mk2) was still a contender, placing himself 2nd in qualifying. Dominant as ever, the racers from Larkfield are still quick, but they are being caught. Andy placing himself 4th and was right in the mix. It was a close battle for 4th to 10th, with only a lap between each racer over the counted 3 qualifying races. The Finals commenced, with the winner in each, taking a spot in the final above. Callum, quick over a flying lap was the first to win against Mum Carol, Joshua and Al Woods father Simon. Callum stepped up into the D Final. Post lunch, it was time for the 2 afternoon classes. As per the Morning sessions, the 3 best heats qualify the racer into heats, this time the finals split into the 2 classes, Le Mans and Grand Touring. In Le Mans, Larkfield were in dominant form again, filling the top 4 qualifying spots. FLBTs Marc followed, with Alan T a further 3 laps back. Carol and a struggling Henry was at the rear of the grid. The GT finals were the first to start with another Junior battle between Louis and Joshua. Joshua emerged the Victor from Louis. The GT A final was Callums rocket Marchon against all the others, however, Clives consistent run gave him the win over Callum, followed by Andy using a SG+ and Joshua. Le Mans finals kicked off with Henry winning against Carol. Henry stepped up into the B final against Dad Marc, Ash and Al T. Ash won the B to join the rest of his fellow Larkfield racers in the A.
